In this 1.5-hour online workshop, NEON scientist Claire Lunch will lead participants through the NEON data portal to learn how to download data. Then, participants will learn how to use the neonUtilities R package to transform NEON data into a format that is easier to work with, how to use provided metadata to understand data contents, and how to download data directly into R. For the first hour, participants can follow along on their own computers and ask for help via chat if needed. The final 30 minutes are reserved for general Q&A and assistance.
Programming language: R
Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with the R language is very helpful, but not required.
Requirements for participation: Prior to the webinar, you will need R installed on your computer, and RStudio if desired. You will need to install the neonUtilities R package, using this command in R: install.packages("neonUtilities"). If you have any problems with installations, use the Contact Us page.
