Updates to Continuous Discharge (DP4.00130.001)
February 4, 2025
Beginning with RELEASE-2025, updates have been made to the Level 4 Continuous discharge (DP4.00130.001) data product. These updates have been applied going back to Water Year 2022 (starting Oct 1, 2021) for all sites, and back to Water Year 2021 (starting Oct 1, 2020) for the D17 BIGC site.
The water column height data that feeds into the discharge model, and the continuous discharge output, have been corrected and gap-filled. Periods of erratic data have been removed, any unintended shifts have been corrected, and gaps have been filled wherever possible. Indicator flags have been applied to indicate which method was used to correct or gap-fill the data. It is recommended that users use the continuousDischarge variable (located in the csd_continuousDischarge table) for discharge values, as these data have been corrected and gap-filled. For provisional data that has not yet been corrected or gap-filled, the maxpostDischarge variable should continue to be used. Likewise, for Water Year 2021 and earlier data which have not been corrected or gap-filled (excluding those from D17 BIGC), the maxpostDischarge variable should continue to be used. Should, in the future, discharge data prior to Water Year 2021 be corrected and gap-filled, another Data Announcement will be posted.
